About Jenny Cox

Picture
Hello and welcome!  I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a heart for helping others. After a career in communications, time at home with my kids, and nearly a decade of military service, I went back to school to pursue my passion for empowering people to love themselves and the people in their lives well.
Therapy is as much a ministry as a profession for me. I naturally care for others and am passionate about helping people find peace in their lives. Having seen the power of therapy in my own life, I know what it's like on the other side. This gives me a deep respect for meeting clients where they are and providing a safe, compassionate space for them to progress at their own pace.
I am a strong believer in the power of self-awareness, compassion, and care as a pathway to healing. As a Catholic, I have a deep spirituality and faith in God. I encourage my clients to explore their own sense of spirituality/meaning as part of the healing process with respect for each person's unique belief system.
Married for 18 years with two children, I have a heart for families with a special interest in parenting and couples work.
I am a certified leader for ScreamFree Parenting and ScreamFree Marriage and offer these powerful workshops as part of my practice.
As well, I am a certified Prepare/Enrich practitioner and present regularly at Marriage Preparation Workshops for Catholic Charities Charlotte Diocese.
I earned my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University, my MBA from Wingate University, and a BA in journalism from Indiana University. I have worked with individuals, couples and families addressing such issues as grief and loss, anxiety, depression, stage of life transitions, chronic illness, relationship problems, premarital counseling, parenting, substance abuse, and more.
Reaching out is the first step toward a better life. I am honored for your visit and welcome the opportunity to be a part of your healing journey.
