Services & Fees
Counseling is provided for adult individuals and couples in a safe, caring environment without judgment. Each person is treated with dignity and respect with a personalized plan that honors their unique culture and addresses the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. Our approach promotes individual well-being and also seeks to heal and strengthen a client's relationships. We offer traditional psychotherapy, couples counseling and EMDR therapy.
Session Fees
Payment/Insurance Information
We offer both self-pay and insurance options. We are in network with BlueCross BlueShield PPO plans and the North Carolina State Health Plan. We will file insurance for clients who wish to use their insurance. For those for whom we are out of network, we can provide documentation so that they can file their own insurance claims. Fee for services will be due at the time of service. If insurance is being used, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis before they will reimburse for services. We will discuss with clients the diagnosis before claims are filed. Any diagnosis becomes part of a client’s permanent mental health record. Clients always have the option to pay directly for counseling services at the rates provided above.
No Insurance for Couples Counseling - Here's Why
Our approach to couples counseling does not blame one partner or the other. We see "the relationship" as the client and focus on healing the couple and family systems. This does not align with the medical model used by insurance companies that requires a mental health diagnosis for one of the partners in the couple and evidence of treatment that directly services the identified client and the mental health diagnosis.
There are benefits of paying out of pocket instead of using insurance for couples therapy:
Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, health care providers must provide patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
Session Fees
- Clinical intake session of 75 minutes is $140.
- Standard 60-minute therapy session is $125.
- 90-minute therapy session is $190.
- Optional customized assessments are also available for a fee.

- There is no diagnosis given.
- Counseling is private with no chance of an insurance company asking for documentation about your care.
- There may more therapists to choose from and they can use different approaches in treatment since they are not limited to those approved by the insurance company.
