About Brooklyn Bernal, MS, LCMHCA
Providing therapy and EMDR for Kids & Teens (Ages 5 and up)
Hi, I am Brooklyn. I'm so glad you're here!
Growing up can be tough both for kids and parents. Whether your child is struggling with big feelings, anxiety, friendship challenges, attention difficulties, grief or the stress that comes with school and family life,
I’m here to help. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where kids and teens feel comfortable being themselves.
I have years of experience working in schools and in the community, supporting children from all different backgrounds. I love helping kids build confidence, learn healthy ways to manage emotions, and strengthen their relationships. I also understand how stressful it can be for parents to watch their child struggle, and I want you to feel encouraged and supported too.
My Approach
In therapy, I use creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate approaches — including play-based activities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR — to help children express themselves and work through challenges.
I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive and even fun. When kids feel comfortable, they are more willing to open up, practice new skills, and feel proud of their progress.
Partnering with Parents
Children don’t exist in isolation — they’re part of a family system. Because of this, I actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapy process. This might mean offering updates, suggesting ways to support your child at home, or including family sessions when appropriate. My goal is to make sure you feel supported too. You’ll never be left guessing about what’s happening in therapy — instead, we’ll work as a team to help your child feel more confident, capable, and connected.
Reaching out for help is the first step. If your child is struggling or your family is going through a hard time, I’d love to work together to bring more peace, healing and joy into your home. You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to support your child and your whole family every step of the way.
⚠️ Important Note: Our practice is not able to provide therapy in situations involving high-conflict divorce or ongoing custody disputes. If your family is experiencing these circumstances, we encourage you to connect with a provider who specializes in court-involved family therapy.
