Therapy/EMDR for
Chidren & Teens

Contact US
Childhood and adolescence can be filled with big feelings, difficult transitions, and unique stressors. That's why we offer therapy designed just for kids and teens.

Our dedicated child and teen therapist Brooklyn Bernal brings years of experience working in schools and in the community, supporting children from many different backgrounds. She is passionate about helping kids build confidence, learn healthy ways to manage emotions, and strengthen their relationships.

She also understands how stressful it can be for parents to watch their child struggle. That’s why she works in partnership with families—so parents feel supported too and never alone in the process.

Our Approach
We believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and even fun. When children feel comfortable, they are more willing to open up, practice new skills, and feel proud of their progress. In therapy, we use creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate approaches — including play-based activities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR — to help children express themselves and work through challenges.

Each session, clients are met with warmth, creativity, and developmentally appropriate approaches that help them feel comfortable and engaged. Depending on their age and needs, sessions may include:
  • Play-based activities to help younger children express themselves in a natural and fun way.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach practical tools for managing emotions, thoughts and behaviors.
  • EMDR therapy to help children and teens heal from trauma, reduce distress and build resilience.

Partnering with Parents
Children don’t exist in isolation — they’re part of a family system. Because of this, we actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapy process. This might mean offering updates, suggesting ways to support your child at home, or including family sessions when appropriate. Our goal is to make sure you feel supported too. You’ll never be left guessing about what’s happening in therapy — instead, we’ll work as a team to help your child feel more confident, capable, and connected.

Take the Next Step
If you’re ready to begin therapy for yourself, your child, or your teen, we’re here to help. Contact us today to schedule an appointment or learn more about how we can support your family’s journey toward healing

 ⚠️ A Note About High-Conflict Divorce
Our practice is not able to provide services in situations involving high-conflict divorce or ongoing custody disputes. In these cases, the therapy space can become complicated by legal matters, and our priority is to maintain a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for children and families. If your family is navigating these circumstances, we encourage you to seek providers who specialize in court-involved or high-conflict family therapy.
